TREATMENT INTRODUCTION

There is currently an explosion of knowledge and information sharing, almost all of it is EMPIRICAL, since this illness has not yet been thoroughly studied. You might have infections with completely different pathogenes, because from each plastic fiber sparsed in nature, different kinds of pathogenes might be collected and carried on or inside of each polymer fiber.

Therefore, many answers or antibiotics that work for one person, might NOT work for another person with slightly different bacteria strains, penicillin allergies, or a longer existing lyme infection. Anyway, you should test first your blood or liquor and sputum to find involved pathogenes, instead starting empirically with any antibiotic regime.

There is no general protocol which can help everybody, but most of reported antibiotics which helped in the beginning was Minocyclin or Doxycyclin, Azithromycin, Roxithromycin, Bactrim and the anti-protozoan medication Metronidazole in combination.

Do not be discouraged if you need to change or tailor your treatment for your particular circumstances. It does NOT mean that your situation is hopeless, because also these organisms are vulnarable and the progressive disease complex can be stopped in approx. 6-24 month, if you had a successful internal treatment of bacteria and fungi and a detoxification of the body from plastic fibers, including your skin and your environment.

If treated immediately with an initial antibiotic medication, the growth of bacterias can be stopped quickly. Homeopathic means are working to slow in that acute illness situation. But later after an antibiotic treatment, as well a treatment with homeopathic medications can be used to restore strength. See also Natural Treatments

I took personally against lyme and fungal infection in the beginning Roxithromycin and Itraconazole from the German company Stada. They helped me a lot in the first few month, but later very rarely even changing antibiotics.

Also I took the medications called Metronidazol and Ivermectin and a special Italian, antifungal treatment Griseofulvin against Dermatophytes on the skalp and beard which was effective also to reduce some bacterial biofilm. Later I was treating myself for a few months with higher dosages of vitamins and minerals to build up my immune system, and with some natural treatments to fight pathogenes and to restore the hormonal level.

There are three major categories of regular therapy for treatments of Morgellons. All of these must be addressed and treated, simultaneously, for a prolonged time period in order for there to be a good remission from this illness (max. 90 - 95 %). This can take 6 - 24 month, up to your grade of infestation and used treatments. It is also very important before starting any medication to do specific blood tests, for having a clue what kind of pathogens you may have to fight.

In case of a Morgellons infection there are symbionts as bacteria, fungus, virus or alga, which are mostly pathogenes. Additional co-infections  such as borrelia, mycoplasms, clamydia and babesia might be present too. If possible they should be treated at the same time, as well to keep down secondary infections from increased opportunistic fungi, viruses and bacterias which our immune system can`t keep anymore under control.

Treating for example lyme preventively in the first 2-3 month, even if no typical symptoms are recognizable, brings more success than in the final lyme stage (after 6-12 month) where stronger and longer medications are necessary. After a few month you should stop for a while the antibiotic regime, if you are for a longer time symptom free, and doing then a new lyme test to control your titers. If all typical disease symptoms starts again after a few antibiotic treatments, you can try also to go on meanwhile with some effective natural or homeopathic treatments.

The three areas of regular therapy treatments are:

1) Internal Medications such as antibiotics, anti-fungals, anti-viral (virus-statica), anti-parasitics, (either oral or injectable,) herbal medications, detoxification treatments, vitamins and immune boosters. Less milk/meat products, carbohydrates, coffee, table salt (high blood pressure) and sugar could also be considered a subsection of this category of internal treatment. But take more proteins (collagen-builder), anti-aging products and use PH-buffer salt such as Natron powder Alkala N (Natrium and Kalium-Hydrogen-Carbonat) or Himalaya salt to stabilize your PH-value.

2) Topical Treatments such as antibacterial or herbal anti-parasitic soaps, or DSP™ Creams, Sprays and Biofilm removers.

3) Environmental Cleansing Treatments such as special laundry products, household cleaners, UV-C lights, negative ionic generator, and methods of vacuuming and treatment of mattresses, pillows, bedding or car interior.

All of these areas need to be treated since this is a systemic, multi parasitic-type illness, which sheds eggs or fiber spores that can cause re-infection from YOUR skin and into your environment or viceversa.

Some important questions concerning this illness are:

To be or not to be, that is the question....

Why do some family members or partners not contract this illness, whereas sometimes whole families are infected? Why is it that such adaptable parasitic organism once getting in contact with any host, not infecting all? Many (healthy) people may carry the parasites but not show symptoms. A weak or compromised immune system contributes, partly, to manifestation of the illness, but it is not the sole reason.

Humans have been living millions of years in symbiosis with many micro-organisms and now, also, with this new parasitic life form, which lives, at first, unnoticed in or on the body, similar to mycoplasma, tuberculosis bazillus, fungi and other opportunistic parasites. This means, that these microscopically small fiber spores with their ingredients, which already exist perhaps everywhere in the natural environment (soil, plants, insects, mammals) can settle on weak or healthy organisms, alike. They can live on many organisms for a certain amount of time, without being recognized.

Only when certain factors are in place, do the typical disease symptoms become noticeable. The parasites always adjust to the current body chemistry, which the respective host organism puts at the disposal of the parasite. This is already well known with host-specific parasites, however, a new adaption takes a longer time with usual parasites. The quicker the chemical change is in the host, the quicker the reaction of this new parasitic life form is noticeable.

If a person is generally healthy and strong, then, possibly not much happens at first. If one is weakened, however, by permanent stress, dramatic life-experiences, surgery trauma, chemicals, or an illness, then this may cause a lowered immune system and also a certain chemical change (adrenalin-cortisol level and thyroids disfunctions) in the host organism, perhaps also due to natural changes of the testosterone/estrogen level (menopause, puberty etc.). At this times, the breakout of the illness with all the typical internal symptoms can become more noticeable, and also visible as skin symptoms particulary more in the hormonal sweat areas (hands, belt line, forehead, feet, and under the shoulders etc.).

The current parasitic manifestations first tries to avoid all unfavorable chemical conditions (sexual or stress hormones), growing out of the subcutaneous skin areas and setteling on the skin surface or hairs. Usually in the first infestation stage of the skin only crawling sensation are noticeable. In the second stage, people may have then all the typical skin symptoms as lesions, pimples etc.

Later this life form tries again, to adapt to these new chemical circumstances inside the host body, in the best way that it can, influencing also the hormonal level of the host to create favorable environment. Also depending on the nutrition and changed body chemistry, they can be forced out momentary, but they crawl later back into the host body if the chemistry is again normal. The hormonal composition, an acid/alkaline PH disbalance, or the intensity/composition of the sweat (CO2) seem to be a crucial factor to be infected by skin contact.

By breathing or swallowing, they settle first in the nose, mouth, lung or in the guts, bowels. A lack of iron and red blood cells may be common among afflicted too, because these organisms do attack the red blood cells, utilizing the iron and as well the oxygen which the red blood cells do transport. This means in general, that one might have not only problems to get a healthy sleep, but also all the other problems which comes along due to a lack of oxygen or a thinner blood.

The blood type, skin thickness and weight of the host seem not to play a role, but many life factors that keeps the body in permanent chemical conditions which influence the hormonal level and also the immune system. After asking many sufferers which blood type they have, we must claim that all blood groups (A, B, O, A-B) were present among morgellons sufferers and so more investigations in that direction seems to be senseless. Perhaps also not a certain human DNA disorder due to a missing chromosome etc. seems to be the reason of infection. But rather a disfunction of the hypothalamus/corticoid system, which involves the adrenal glands and the sexual and stress hormones etc.

Generally, people who had a stressfull and dramatic life are more compromised than those, which had a good childhood (not stress induced) with the opportunity to build up a good immune system and having a functionable hormonal system. A low stress childhood, creating perhaps a lower adrenalin / cortisol level (stress hormones) than others. A loveless childhood, no acceptance, extreme stress, separations, and a bad nutrition (more iodine etc. is needed then) are the main keywords in order to have an outbreak of Morgellons. Anyway, stress is the main trigger to have an outbreak, and you should test all your hormonal values, not only the thyroids but also the sexual and cortisol levels, DHEA, ACTH, etc.

Many morgellons sufferers wrote us, that during their pregnancy they had been symptom free for 9 month. During pregnancy women are having a higher progesterone level which is producing also more estrogen, testosterone, aldosterone and cortisol as well. This pre-stage hormone-builder Progesterone is also preventing a second pregnancy during an ongoing pregnancy. Synthetic made hormons which are similar to progesterone, are called gestagens which are used also as Birth-control pills and as therapy against hormons-producing cancer cells.

But not everybody can take the Birth-control pills (only women) or other direct hormonal use of testosterone or estrogens (skin-pads or fluids) etc., known also as HRT Hormone Replacement Therapy or having a corticoid therapy. Our age infection statistics showed us, that most sufferers been around the 50` after being infected, because a lower immune system and changed hormonal level is common when growing older. Anyway, a longer intake of hormons can cause also cancer, so take them only a few month and never longer than 1-2 Years !!

Why fighting the parasite just with strong poisons, hormons etc., why not also try to re-establish the same physical conditions as others non-morgellons sufferers have, with vitamins etc. that are already being used in Sports Medicine/Bodybuilder and Anti-aging products (DHEA). Which are pushing up the immune system and as consequence the hormonal level too, without any hormone pill, but with natural remedies to balance the hormonal system.

Therefore, it is a good idea building up of the immune system and hormonal level with vitamins and minerals, as vitamin C (500-1000%), B6, Zinc and Magnesium in a higher dosage (300-600 %), take as well in a higher dosage, Vitamin A or Beta-Carotin, D, E, Q10, Glutathion, Selenium, Carnitin, Folic acid, Lecithin and Cystein and for sure all B-Vitamins (200-300 %), seem to be very helpful in the fight against that Morgellons/Lyme disaster and perhaps for many other diseases too (but reduce higher dosages after 2-3 month). To balance the hormonal system and to relax all, try also Passion flower/Phellodedron/Magnolia products.

Just for making a connection: In the natural kingdom, all plants and animals try, according to their own capabilities and environments, to oppose all parasitic attacks to some extent, either chemically or by some other means. The respective chemical fight against parasites used by plants and also by other life forms plays an enormous role. Certain hormones, in humans, plants and animals, eg. Pythohormons, pheromons, testosterons/estrogens, enzymes etc. are mostly used to repel parasitic micro aggressors. See for example, the following scientific sites:

Anyway, I can get along without antibiotics, using these mentioned means and also gradually strengthen my immune system, which for many years I neglected. Actually, one should invest earlier in one's health, rather than later, when it could be too late to start spending money trying to cure diseases.

I had my first lyme test in August of 2006, one year after having very bad lyme symptoms, but the serology result was negative. One year later, after many months of taking antibiotics and many ups and downs, I tried a second lyme test. This second lyme test (LTT-Melisa), was also negative and this was disappointing. So one month later, I decided to try the newest T-Cellspot test, which gave me, at last, a positive result after having lyme for almost two years.

(Watch my positive lyme laboratory results)

(Watch my negative lyme laboratory results)

I also had tests for lyme co-infections such as babesia, mycoplasma, rickettsia, all kinds of chlamydia (not only sexual transmitted), viruses etc., but all tests were negative, despite still having a heavy cough and other symptoms.

I only had one positive result and high values with two types of viruses. The first was the Epstein-Barr-Virus (EBV-Herpes) and the second was the Cytomegalo-Virus (CMV-Herpes). Both herpes viruses are opportunistic. It appears that the opportunistic pathogens a person carries are arbitrary.

My current status, according to my last laboratory results and my general well-being, after a few months of alternative treatment, confirms that I am on the right course, but re-infections or flashbacks of symptoms could still come and go.

Stay tuned, this protocol will be continuously updated.
